Potion Making Classes
Adults can make cocktails, while children and non-drinkers can make alcohol-free mocktails. This is a supported, self-led potion-making experience for the whole family.
Step into the spellbinding bar and receive a welcome drink from The Twisted Broom founder, Amgine Thorncloak. Once seated, you will receive the ingredients for your first potion.
Your host will provide a step-by-step potion book so you know exactly what to do. If you need advice, wave your wand to summon your potion master.
You will create and enjoy two magical cocktails or mocktails. The experience can last up to 1 hour 45 minutes.
The experience is suitable for all ages, and Potion Making is recommended for ages 8+. Every booking party must include at least one adult aged 18+.
Our Magical Inspiration
At Twisted Broom, we’re lifelong fans of things like Harry Potter and the wider Wizarding Worlds. It was this love of magic and storytelling that inspired us to create our very own enchanted universe at Enigma Rooms in Doncaster.
In our story, former flying champion Amgine Thorncloak and his wife Mary dreamed of a haven where witches and wizards could gather in peace. Retiring from flying sports, Amgine and Mary built a place where magical folk could share a brew, debate counter-curses, or even trade dragon eggs and mermaid scales — all safely hidden from the eyes of non-magic folk.
The Twisted Broom was founded nearly 400 years ago, during a time when witches and wizards were forced into secrecy after the hardships of the Middle Ages. Today, we carry that legacy forward, welcoming all who seek a touch of magic and mystery, and to learn some of Amgine’s very own potion recipes.

• A Welcome Drink on Arrival: Start your magical journey with a complimentary enchanting beverage.
• A supported, self-led Potion Making experience: follow the step-by-step potion book at your table, with a potion master available whenever you need help.
• Two Potions to Create, Brew, and Enjoy: Hands-on experience in making, brewing, and tasting two unique potions.
• Photo Opportunities: Capture magical memories within the Twisted Broom.
• This experience lasts up to 1 hour and 45 minutes.
Note: Potions can be made with both alcoholic and non-alcoholic ingredients. The Twisted Broom enforces the Challenge 25 rule. If you are lucky enough to look under the age of 25, you will be asked for ID. If ID is not presented, then you will only be allowed to brew non-alcoholic potions.

Pricing
Potion Making Classes: £24.95 per guest.
Guests must be aged 18+ to make or consume alcoholic potions. Alcohol-free potions are available, and Challenge 25 applies.
Potion Classes
Cocktail making in Doncaster, or if you are underage, flying or just unable to drink alcohol, then we have mocktail making too (you tell us upon arrival). Potion Making in Doncaster is a supported, self-led immersive experience, with a potion master available whenever you need help. You’ll get a cauldron, some unique ingredients, and step-by-step instructions written by one of Doncaster’s famous potion masters, Amgine Thorncloak. You’ll create two delicious cocktails/mocktails with a magical twist, surrounded by the spellbinding setting that is, The Twisted Broom in Doncaster.
Is there an age limit?
There isn’t an age limit, but we do recommend the Potion Making Classes for ages 8+ as they do involve following instructions carefully and a little bit of concentration. Obviously, the bar offers soft drinks as well as alcoholic ones, and we do practice the Challenge 25 rule for alcohol.

Accessibility, Allergies and Mobility
The Twisted Broom is at Enigma Rooms Doncaster, 37 Hall Gate, Doncaster, DN1 3NR. It is on the first floor and is accessed by stairs only. If you have allergies or access requirements, contact us before booking so we can discuss them. We cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment.
Will there be strangers with us?
No, but sort of yes. Just like any bar, there may be other people at other tables doing different activities. Your activity is unique to your booking group, and you won’t be making potions with strangers, drinking tea with random guests, or sipping a Dragon Punch cocktail with someone you haven’t met before.
Do you serve food?
Magical Afternoon Tea is available when booked in advance. Please contact us before booking about dietary requirements or allergies. We cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment.
How long does it last?
This experience can last up to an hour and forty-five minutes.
Potion Making Classes is a Live Event
**PLEASE ALSO BE AWARE THAT THE TWISTED BROOM IS A LIVE EVENT AND THEREFORE WE CANNOT ACCEPT REFUNDS. THIS INCLUDES CANCELLATIONS OR LAST MINUTE RESCHEDULES ONCE A BOOKING IS CONFIRMED. PLEASE ARRIVE 15 MINUTES BEFORE YOUR BOOKING. GROUPS THAT ARE MORE THAN 10 MINUTES LATE WILL HAVE THEIR BOOKING CANCELLED WITHOUT REFUND.
