Escape Rooms
Is there an age limit?
All Enigma Rooms activities and experiences require at least one adult (18+) in the booking party.
The minimum age limit for our activities are:
Axe Throwing: 10+
Escape Rooms: (recommended) 8+
Interactive Darts: (recommended) 8+
Twisted Broom Experiences: (recommended) 8+
Our rule of having an adult (18+) as part of the booking party is non-negotiable. This is due to our fire regulations and insurance.
How many people are allowed in one room?
The minimum amount of players per room is 2, and the maximum is 6 players.
There are no exceptions, this is due to our fire regulations and insurance, and we can’t allow any more than 6 bodies per escape room.
For larger groups, we suggest you split the group and play two (or more) escape rooms at the same time (subject to availability).
Other Enigma Rooms activities can accommodate larger numbers, such as Axe Throwing, Interactive Darts and Potion Making, but please note not all venues have these activities.
When do I pay?
Payment is required when booking all activities and experiences. Unfortunately, we don’t take deposits, nor can you book now and pay later.
Cancellations or Reschedules
Please be aware that Enigma Rooms are live events and therefore we cannot accept refunds, cancellations or last-minute reschedules once a booking is confirmed.
Enigma Rooms requires more than 48 hours’ notice to reschedule bookings.
Groups that are more than 10 minutes late for their booking will have their booking cancelled without refund.
When to Arrive?
Players must arrive 15 minutes before your booking so you can sign in, be briefed and be ready to play the room on time.
How much would it cost and how can I book the tickets?
Our prices will vary per person depending on the size of the group and activity. Bookings can be made online; choose a location and activity to start that process.

Axe Throwing – £22pp
Potion Making – £24.95pp

All activities require a minimum group of 2 people, maximum numbers may vary depending on activity and venue.
There are only a limited number of time slots each day for last minute bookings and walk-ins. It is advisable to call ahead of time to ensure we have space and staffing to cover your bookings if wishing to book on the day, we cannot guarantee we’ll be able to get you in.

Calls cost no more than calls to geographic numbers (01 or 02) and must be included in inclusive minutes and discount schemes in the same way according to Ofcom.
We offer an exclusive 10% discount to all groups of students, NHS and also armed Forces. Please call 0333 366 1002 to book using this discount. On the day, you must bring a valid ID (SU card, NHS card etc) for someone in the group
Using Enigma Room Gift Vouchers
To book with an Enigma Rooms gift voucher, please call 0333 366 1002 and we will book you in.
Enigma Room Vouchers are valid for all our locations and all our activities including: Escape Rooms, Viking Axe Throwing, Oche Club and The Twisted Broom.
They are not redeemable on bars or food and drinks.
Please note, not all locations offer all activities so please check beforehand.
Gift Vouchers are to be used in a single transaction, and not in conjunction with any other offers.
Do you offer discounts?
Yes, we do.
We have discounts for Blue Light, NHS, Military and Student discounts.
A valid ID must be presented on the day of the booking or extra charges will apply, and the person with the ID must be part of the booking party.
Are the Escape Rooms accessible?
Due to the age and layouts of the venues, it’s hard to make all the locations accessible.
We have TWO wheelchair friendly escape rooms in our Hull location, Dracula’s Tomb and Escape the Chocolate Factory, although for both rooms there are items lower down that require assistance.

Our Escape Rooms Safety
Our customers’ safety is paramount. We have taken advice from a number of organisations and taken a number of measures to prevent accidents occurring. We also give a safety/game briefing before ALL Enigma Rooms games.
You are never officially ‘locked’ in a room, and can leave the room at any time, and with ease should there be an emergency.
Do we organise corporate Team Building and Private events?
Absolutely! Our live escape rooms and other activities such as axe throwing, oche club and potion making experiences are perfect for team building exercises and group fun like birthdays, stag as well as hen do’s and we pride ourselves on providing exceptional service to our customers.

What are your Opening Hours?
Our opening days and times vary from location to location.
Please check the availability of the rooms you wish to play, on their booking pages using the menu above to choose the location.
What Should I wear?
Suitable footwear is a must. We strongly advise against open toed shoes, stiletto heels or similar footwear.
We recommend that you wear comfortable clothing, that isn’t too loose.
What Should I bring?
You’ll need to bring a copy of your booking reference, no need to print this out if you have access to it via your phone.
Your NHS ID, Blue Light Card, Student ID, Military ID if you have used the discount offer.
A photo ID if you are going to a venue with a bar and wish to purchase alcohol. This also includes Potion Making classes in the Twisted Broom in Doncaster.
Pizza Express Discount (Hull)
Get 30% off at Pizza Express Princes Quay Shopping Centre Hull when you present your Enigma Rooms booking confirmation before you order on the same day as your booking.
Do I need to pre-book or just walk in?
Each location is different, and usually we only have staff in the building when a booking has been made.
Although some locations do have staff there all day, it is STRONGLY recommended that you book in advance or at the very least call us on 03333 661002 to check we can cover your booking.
Weekends and evenings are especially busy, and book up fast, meaning there is less chance of you being able to walk in, so again, we advise you calling ahead, or booking in advance.

How much does it cost?
£22 per person for the hour.

What do I need to wear?
We want you to be comfortable, but there are certain things we can’t allow.
We do NOT allow:
Open Toe Shoes
Stiletto Heels
Hooded Tops
Scarves
The lanes are full of wood chippings, and the axes are sharp.
It is a physical activity, so we recommend you wear something that offers you a bit of flexibility, especially upper body.

Is it safe?
Yes, it’s incredibly safe. All throwers receive a safety brief, and technique training.
We also use Franciscan axes, which is a type of axe where the handle isn’t stuck to the axe head, meaning if you throw it wrong, the axe will fall to the ground, rather than bounce back towards you, meaning, it’s the safest axe to throw.
Do I need to book or can I walk in?
Axe Throwing requires a certain amount of preparation for the venue, and a trained member of staff is required to run the booking, because of this we STRONGLY recommended that you book in advance or at the very least call us on 03333 661002 to check we can cover your booking.

The Twisted Broom
How much does it cost?
Prices vary by activity:
Potion Making — £24.95 per guest. Make two alcoholic or alcohol-free potions in a supported, self-led experience lasting up to 1 hour 45 minutes.
Magical Afternoon Tea — £24.95 per guest. Enjoy sandwiches, cakes and sweet treats with unlimited tea or coffee, plus tea-leaf reading, for up to 1 hour 45 minutes.
Drinks with Friends — £4.99 per guest. The full booking fee is deducted from your final bill. Minimum booking duration: 60 minutes.
How many guests can book?
Online bookings are available for 2–24 guests. For larger groups or private hire, call 0333 366 1002 or email hello@enigmarooms.co.uk.
Is it just alcohol?
No. Potions can be made with alcoholic or alcohol-free ingredients. Guests must be aged 18+ to make or consume alcoholic potions, and Challenge 25 applies. Every booking party must include at least one adult aged 18+.
What ages is it for?
The Twisted Broom experiences are suitable for all ages, and Potion Making is recommended for ages 8+. Potion Making is supported and self-led: guests follow a step-by-step potion book at their table, with a potion master available if they need help. Every booking party must include at least one adult aged 18+.
Can we rent the space for a private party or event?
Yes. The Twisted Broom is available for private hire for celebrations, networking events and other gatherings. Drinks can be included, and Magical Afternoon Tea is available when booked in advance. Email hello@enigmarooms.co.uk with your event type, preferred date and estimated guest numbers so we can discuss the options.
Do I have to pre-book?
Yes—advance booking is strongly recommended. Book at least 48 hours ahead where possible so we can prepare ingredients. If the live calendar offers a same-day “Book Now” slot, you may book it online. If a same-day slot says “Call to book”, call 0333 366 1002 to check availability.
